Campfire Apple Crisp — Delectable & Fast
Looking for something sweet to add to your travel and camping culinary bag of tricks? This simple “foil packet” recipe is sure to please! Simply add your ingredients together, set them and forget them. Delectable and fast, this apple crisp is perfect if you want something sweet that’s not your average s’more.
- 1⁄4 cup oatmeal
- 1 tbsp. flour
- 3 tbsp. packed brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. cinnamon
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 diced apple
Optional: Serve with ice cream and/or whipped cream
1. Prepare the Crumb Topping
Combine oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and 1 tbsp of butter in separate container. It’s best to use your hands to work the butter into the dry ingredients but if can also use a fork to combine them.
2. Prepare Your Packet
Grease the bottom of your foil packet with your remaining tablespoon of butter. Place your diced apples in the foil, and sprinkle over the crumb topping. Set over a cooking grate, or near hot coals for 15 minutes, and enjoy!
