Philadelphia South KOA
Part of our Best RV Parks in NJ series: If you ever stayed at the Timberland Campground in Clarksboro, NJ – you should be aware that the campground is now a part of the KOA system of RV parks and has been renamed. It is now known as Philadelphia South KOA, which is less exciting than Timberland in my opinion, but it’s still the same great campground for you and your Airstream. Airstream owners love this RV park because it has enough outdoor activities to be exciting, while still being tethered to modern society.
The Philadelphia South KOA is just a few miles outside of Cherry Hill, NJ and Philadelphia, PA (obviously). It’s your perfect basecamp for camping, exploring, and shopping – how cool is that?
The RV park also has full hookups for your Airstream like 50 AMP and 30 AMP electrical hookups, sewer lines, water hookups, cable/satellite TV, Wi-Fi and cell phone coverage for Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. You’ll be hauling your Airstream travel trailer through the Clarksboro, NJ suburbs until you reach the campgrounds.
There are facilities for restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, a camp store, and a pet area. It’s a kid friendly campground with a rec room, group camping, fishing, and tenting.
You’ll have a great experience camping just 20 minutes from the city of brotherly love, where you can relax by the pool, catch fish, and go for a relaxing hike. There are whitetail deer, wild turkeys, and enough wildlife to keep you interested.
Whether you’re interested in camping, glamping, or riding it out in your motorhome – this campground is sure to impress.
Philadelphia South KOA
The Philadelphia South KOA has mostly gravel roads, which means you’ll want to make sure you’re taking your Airstream around the corners slowly. Did we mention that the turns are very tight? There are limited options for diesel fuel and eating, while you’re only 20 minutes away from a Philly cheesesteak – you might want stock up before you head out, as all the fishing is catch and release.
The campsites are mostly pull-through, but they’re long enough for a 5th wheel and a truck which means you’ll have no problem with your Airstream Bambi. The spots are very close together and very sunny, as there are a limited number of trees. If arriving in the fall, tell the staff that you have an Airstream and that you would like to have a site without trees and the dropping acorns could very well dent your coach.
If you do decide to go out to Philadelphia, you should know that there is a $5 bridge crossing fee, but that’s well-priced for the area. If you are in the area, make sure you come to Colonial Airstream as we’re just a few short hours away.
