2020 Airstream Bambi FAQs

For years the name Bambi has been a nickname for the smallest single-axle Airstream trailers. For 2020, the Bambi has replaced the popular Sport model and is now its own official family of travel trailers. The 2020 Bambi is very similar to the Sport but with a few upgrades to an already great travel trailer. Below are some of the frequently asked questions about the new Airstream Bambi.

What Floor Plan options are available?

The Bambi is available in 4 floor plan options including a 16RB, 19CB, 20FB, and 22FB. In every option you’ll find dedicated sleeping space, convertible dinette space, a kitchen with all the essentials, and an on-board bathroom. All Bambi trailers feature a single axle that make for ease of towing and versatility.

What are the Interior Décor options?

The Bambai is available in two decor options, Dune or Ocean. The Dune decor with its light greys and warm whites is a great neutral platform to add your own touch. The Ocean Decor is very similar but with Deep Navy color Performatex ® Fabric seating.

What is Performatex ® Fabric?

Performatex Fabric is an all new material being used by Airstream in the 2020 Bambi models. The Performatex fabric is made from a duriable recycled fiber that’s easy to clean and resistant to fading, fire, and repeated use.

What are the bed dimensions?

All Bambi floor plans sleep up to 4 people and include a convertible dinette lounge in addition to the master bed. The 16RB floor plan features a 48″ x 78″ bed in the rear of the trailer, the 19CB floor plan has a 48″ x 78″ corner bed, and both the 20FB and 22FB have a master bed in the front of the trailer. The 20FB bed meaures 48″ x 78″ and the 22FB has a slightly larger 54″ x 80″ master bed.

Does the Bambi come standard with A/C?

Yes. All Bambi trailers come standard with a 30 AMP Service 13,500 BTU Air Conditioner to keep you comfortable on those hot summer days. A Built-in heat strip gives you the flexibility to use electricity to keep your Bambi warm when the temperatures get cool at night. The Bambi also features a Ducted Furnace to keep you toasty when camping in the colder months.

What are the tank capacities?

The 16RB floor plan is equipped with a 23 gallon fresh water tank and a 28 gallon Gray/Black combo tank. The 19CB, 20FB, and 22FB floor plans all have a 27 gallon fresh water tank, 28 gallon gray water tank, and 18 gallon black water tank.

Can the Bambi be towed with an SUV?

The great thing about the Bambi is it’s easy to maneuver, and can easy to fit into smaller campground spots. Most Bambi models are light enough to tow with an SUV or mid-size truck. The model weights are as follows:

Does the Bambi have an awning?

The Bambi comes standard with a Manual Zip Dee® Awning, perfect for creating a shady space for relaxing and keeping your travel trailer cooler in the sun. The awning features Weathermax® Fabric that provides strength, durability, and long-term color retention.

What is the warranty for a new Airstream?

Each new Airstream comes with a 3-year Airstream Limited Transferable Warranty and 3 years of Coach Net 24/7 Roadside Assistance.
