All-New 2022 Airstream Interstate 24X 4×4
The Airstream Interstate has been the #1 best-selling Class B diesel motorhome for six years in a row. As Airstream continues to evolve and expand its Touring Coach lineup, they’ve introduced a new model for 2022: the Interstate 24X. Designed for those who want to take their adventures off the grid, the 24X comes equipped with a 4×4 chassis, lithium batteries, military-grade solar panels, and ample gear storage.
Chassis
Like the Airstream Interstate Grand Tour and Lounge, the 24X is built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 Extended chassis with a 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel engine delivering 188 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque.
The 24X measures 24’6″ in length and 10′ in height (including the A/C). Unlike many Class B vans where 4WD is optional, the 24X comes standard with four-wheel drive and all-terrain tires. It can tow up to 5,000 lbs and comes equipped with a hitch, 7-pin trailer plug, and brake control pre-wire.
Floor Plan
The flexible 24X floor plan provides storage for your gear, a full onboard bathroom, a spacious kitchen, and a convertible rear living area. It is available in one interior décor: Red Rock, featuring dark grey marine-grade Simtex-carbon seating with red accent stitching.
Interior
The cab area includes top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz safety features like active lane-keeping assist, cruise control, rear and side-view cameras, crosswind assist, and the MBUX Infotainment System. The Ultraleather cab seats include a rugged hexagonal pattern with red stitching and multiple power adjustments.
Behind the driver seat is a Lagun table that adjusts vertically and rotates 360 degrees—perfect as a mobile workstation or for meals inside or outside the van.
The kitchen includes a solid-surface countertop, deep stainless-steel sink, 2-burner propane cooktop, microwave, and refrigerator—everything you need to stay off-grid comfortably.
The rear living area features an aircraft-grade L-track storage system on the walls, floor, and ceiling, providing secure storage for bikes, kayaks, fishing gear, and more. The seating area can accommodate six people, convert into a lounge, or transform into a 6’8″ x 5’8″ bed.
The onboard wet bath includes a space-efficient design with a combination sink, shower, and toilet. Features include a swivel mirror, waterproof toilet paper cover, and a multi-function faucet/shower head.
Exterior
The exterior of the 24X features a rugged protective coating on the bumpers and lower panels to guard against damage when traveling off-road. A roof rack with an LED lighting kit includes a front-facing light bar and additional side and rear lights for nighttime setup or navigation.
Four high-quality Resonado speakers above the rear doors provide premium audio while setting up or relaxing outdoors.
A powered patio awning includes red and grey design accents and integrated LED lighting. Combined with the solar package and 4×4 capability, the Interstate 24X is ready for adventure.
