Easy Red, White, and Blue Cookies for the 4th of July
It’s not always easy to create homemade treats when you’re cooking on the go — whether it’s limited storage space or lack of fancy cooking gear. Here’s a simple and fun recipe that’s perfect for sprucing up your 4th of July weekend celebration from the comfort of your Airstream.

1 vanilla cake mix
8 tablespoons butter, melted
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 cups Oreo cookie chunks (about 14 cookies)
¾ cup red, white, & blue M&M’s, divided
½ cup red, white, & blue sprinkles, divided

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Set out cookie sheets.
Mix together the cake mix, butter, egg, and vanilla until a soft dough forms.
Add the cream cheese and mix again until smooth.
Gently stir in the Oreo chunks, ½ cup M&M’s, and ¼ cup of the sprinkles. Refrigerate dough for 30–60 minutes.
Roll dough into 24 evenly sized balls. Press the remaining M&M’s into the tops of each ball. Add extra sprinkles on top if desired.
Place dough balls on cookie sheets and bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool on cookie sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to parchment paper. Let cookies cool completely, then store in an airtight container.
Makes 24 cookies. Perfect for sharing around the campfire or picnic table!
